Bird of the Apocalypse
{ nothing scares me more than the thought of losing you }
Greetings... I am Robin. Or better yet, Robin by weeknights, and Batboy by weekends! Only in secret, however. I'm still unsure if father will allow me to continue this.

Damian’s breathing hitched slightly in surprise at what Colin said. Around me? He’s not sure why it happened, but it did, and it made him happy to hear that. Not only because it’s the same with him, feeling this way around Colin, but because….it really did make him happy. Damian narrowed his eyes, trying to figure this all out and he pushed himself up a little further and scooted a little closer to Colin, leaving just a few inches of space between them. He wanted to say that he was feeling the same way, but couldn’t bring himself to do it. Sharing feeling so openly was something he was definitely not good at. Instead he just looked Colin in the eyes, searching for something, an answer, what he should do next.

When Damian doesn’t answer or say anything in response to what Colin just admitted, he feels his heart fall and a strange sadness welling up inside him. But then the other scoots closer and his eyes widen a little in surprise, the blush on his face returning and darkening. And there are the swarm of butterflies again. They’re fluttering everywhere now and Colin feels his heartbeat quicken as he realizes just how close Damian is. …But he wants to be even closer. Pushing himself up a little as well, he inches closer to the other boy, nervously closing the gap between them until they’re only a millimeter, a breath apart. He keeps his eyes locked with Damian’s, looking for any change in his expression. He doesn’t want him to feel uncomfortable, and if there’s any sign of him not liking how close they are, Colin is quickly ready to back off. Even though…he really doesn’t want to.

Normally he would have back up slightly when Colin got even closer, but something kept him there. No. He wanted to be there, he wanted to be close to him. His stomach was in knots out of uncertainty and nervousness. Even with that, he felt calm…being this close to Colin. It was a strange feeling to be sure, but thats what it was. The feeling of Colin’s breath sent shivers down his spine, and he let out a shaky and soft breath as well. Damian tilted his head forward, pressing his forehead against Colin’s lightly, allowing their noses to touch each other. He couldn’t explain why he was, but he wanted to do it. Something was still beckoning him to get closer. “Colin…” he whispered airily. “I can see a smiley face in your freckles…” he chuckled quietly and lightly. He didn’t have to say that, but he did. He couldn’t help himself after he saw it, being this close to him, just staring into the other’s eyes again.
